Hi! I'm Yves, a game developer and passionate about games since I played Donkey Kong Land 3 on my very first Game Boy (DMG-01 :D) many years ago.In 2022 I started to create my own games during my study at htk-academy where I found my real passion: Game development!More than 2 years later, I’m still fascinated, that everything I can think about, is somehow possible to realize! The possibilites in game-development are just limitless!Here are some of the games, I created on my own or in a team over the last years:

Cursed Clouds (Demo)

Cursed Clouds is a top-down-isometric action-adventure with the following features:
- Unlock abilities (Melee, Range)
- Reach new places with a boat
- Magic book which accompanies you
- Save-system
It was my 5th semester project where I want to create a demo of a possible bigger game.
For this reason, my focus was on scalability and world building.
The biggest challenge for me was to programm the enemy-AI with behaviour-trees.
The most fun I had with creating the blueprint of a modular ladder with nice looking climbing animation of the main character.

Captain Patsy's Fate

Captain Patsy's Fate is a pirate-themed puzzle game, where you have to reach the treasure of a mysterious island.Features:
- Stylized artstyle
- Digging with a shovel
- Find treasures with a map and hints
- Solve puzzles to open the treasures
- Voice over implemented
- Get hints from the cat!
In this project, my main focus was a complete story and challenging puzzles.
I also learned a lot about texturing and baking with blender and substance painter.
It was also the first time I created foliage for a game, which was very much fun to do!

Frankie's Cat

This is my 3rd semester project.
The goal was to create a 3D-Platformer.
I decided to do a Frankenstein-themed game with the following features:
- 3 levels, connected with a hub-area
- Unlock abilities to reach new places
- Rail-based camera system
- 2.5D level parts
- Collectables, needed to complete the game
- Various traps and obstacles
This was my very first Unreal Engine project, where I learned so much about blueprints.
My focus was smooth movement and easy to follow player guidance.
It was also the project, where I discovered sculpting in Blender which added so much to the game! :)
My biggest inspiration was one of my most liked games from my childhood: Crash Bandicoot <3

Billy the Cat

This is my 2nd semester project.
The goal was to create a 3D-Questgame.
I decided to do a Western-themed game with the following features:
- Western city with 3 accessible buildings
- 9 NPCs with own quests or helpful tipps and your horse Millie
- Shop to buy quest-items
- Day-Night cycle, needed to complete some quests
In this project I started learning C# which was a more complicated but way faster than visual scripting, which I used in the last project.
For the dialogue-system we used inky by inkle which is in my opinion just perfect for a story-based game!

Cleopatras Cat

This is my very first game.
The goal was to create a 2D-pixel-art-platformer.
I decided to do a Egypt-themed game with the following features:
- Pyramid with 10 unique rooms
- Collectibles and keys to find the way out of the pyramid
- 3 various enemies
- Endboss
- Minimap
In this project, I discovered Unity Engine for the first time, and programmed everything with visual scripting (formerly called "bolt")
Of course I got a lot of support from my lecturers at htk-academy.

This was a submission to the gamejam MiniJameGam#27.
The theme was: "Back to the Beginning"
We worked in a team of 3 people over a period of 2 days.
Our result was a 3D pixel-art roguelite twin-stick shooter where you have to clean a computer from malware.
Features:
- Collect chips to upgrade your equipment
- The game restarts on death but you keep all your upgrades
- Clean all areas to finish the game
In this project, Jacky and me were responsible for the programming and level design part. Nina created all the pixel-art and UI.We had a great time over the weekend, creating this game in a team :)
